1.0 INTRODUCTION i). Background of the proposed report : The first meal of the day has long been promoted as a healthy way to start the day (A. Lluch, 1999).Some people say that it is a norm not to take breakfast in the morning especially people in the developing country. It's true that maybe some of them could not afford to have breakfast in the morning. But from a research that had been carried out, it shows that breakfast is the most important diet in a daily life.(G. Affenito, Sandra, 2007). Most of our energy used is in the morning. That why we need to consume a food in the morning to provide enough energy for our body to perform a daily routine. Some people may be said that they don't need a breakfast to perform their routine life as there are no different whether they take a breakfast or not. But that just only what they think based on their narrow minded because for the people who has a good life style, they see that breakfast are very important for them. The statistic in University of Wisconsin-Stout shows that 64.7 % people who take a breakfast everyday will perform in their job. As an example, the student who are taking their breakfast in the morning will be more concentrate in the class compare to those who are not eat anything in the morning. From a research, it is found that those who had eaten a smallbreakfast, on average 61 kcal, spent significantly less time attending to their work than those who had eaten larger meals(Benton, David, 2006). It's mean that even though they take a breakfast but in small quantity that are not enough to provide an energy for their body will not do well compared for those who has enough diet for their body. In the developing country, the awareness of having breakfast is high compare to our country. Researchers in developing country have found out that the negative effects of skipping breakfast. They found out that skipping breakfast may leads to heart risks and weight gain. (G. Affenito, Sandra, 2007). Based on my observation, most of students of University Malaysia Pahang rarely having breakfast. This is because most of students wake up late due to lots of assignment that needs to be done. There are also a few students that thinks the breakfast is not important and takes it lightly. These kinds of actions make most of student unfocussed in class. This can be proved as many of the students fall asleep during lecture.

Murphy J.M. Food Research & Action Center (FRAC). Child Nutrition Fact Sheet: Breakfast for learning. This research is focus on the importance of breakfast towards students in their learning. This research is conduct in Washington. Based on that research, the researcher found out the risk of having obesity among children. Besides that, students who skipping breakfast also will easily get tired and lose concentration during lesson.
Murphy J.M. Breakfast and Learning: An Updated Review, Current Nutrition & Food Science,2007,3,3-36. This article is focusing on the importance of breakfast for learning. Students have a busy time in school where they not only learn different subjects but also indulge in extracurricular activities. For doing these activities, they need energy which comes from glucose that breakfast provides. Not only that, students have to face a lot of challenges in school and an empty stomach may come in the way of their progress. It has been observed that children who do not have their breakfast before going to school have problems, like, headache, sleepiness, stomach pain, and others. Students who have the habit of eating breakfast have been reported to have better concentration during lessons than those who do not. Breakfast is also beneficial for the memory of the students as they are able to remember and retrieve already learned information quickly as well as accurately. Mahoney C.R., Taylor H.A., et at all, Effect of breakfast composition on cognitive processes in elementary school children, Physiology & Behavior 85 (2005) 635 – 645. The authors highlighting the importance of breakfast composition toward students. Breakfast consumption has been associated with learning and better school performance. The importance of breakfast for academic achievement is reflected in the effects of breakfast on cognitive performance. People who ate a high-compared to low-energy breakfast showed improvements in creativity, physical endurance, mathematical addition, and short-term memory. A low-fat, high carbohydrate breakfast produce a reduction in subjective fatigue compared to a moderate carbohydrate, high-fat breakfast.
3.0 Data Collection MethodThe researchers will conduct a survey around the UMP to seek for response. 3.1 Scope of study This research will be focusing on UMP students. The survey area will be conducted around the UMP.
3.2 Numbers of samples The estimated number of respondents in UMP are 50. The respondents will be selected by random gender and various faculties. Only 10 percent of the respondents will be analyze for the study. Therefore, the researchers will randomized the selection of year for students.
3.3 Data collection instrument The researchers proposed to distribute questionnaire which there will be certain information of the respondents such as gender, faculty, year and course. There also will be a yes or no questions and certain opinion type of questions. Besides, the researchers will also do observations on what food UMP students consumed for their breakfast.
3.4 DIVISION OF WORKLOAD Gantt chart is attached in the Appendix section. Task delegation and time management are shown.
